Week 6 of Pregnancy
At 6 weeks pregnant you may start to experience pregnancy symptoms. Your baby's heart will now be beating in a normal regular pattern.
Changes in your body at Week 6 of Pregnancy
Some of the physical signs of pregnancy may develop around 6 weeks as the embryo is developing rapidly. Some symptoms include:
- Frequent need to urinate.
- Morning sickness and Nausea
- Food cravings
- Fatigue
- Tender, tingling, aching breasts
- Darkening of the nipples
Baby's Development at Week 6 of Pregnancy - Baby size: 9 to 14mm
During week six of pregnancy the baby’s facial features begin to appear, the heart visible beats with a regular rhythm, the head and tail is easily recognisable and the liver, pancreas, lungs, and thyroid gland start to develop. Other development includes the neural tube along the baby's back closing, the primary intestinal loop becomes present, the optic vesicles and lenses of the eyes form, arms and legs are developing, the cerebral brain hemispheres are enlarging, digestive and respiratory systems begin to form and the larynx and the inner ear starts to form.
