Nursery Decor Baby Gifts

You need to get a gift for your friend who is expecting or has recently given birth, and you want to get something a little different from the usual baby clothes and toys. Perhaps you’re worried that your gift will be forgotten long before the baby even grows out of diapers. Consider getting an item that can be used in the baby’s nursery. There are many gifts that will look adorable in the baby’s room, but will still be useful as the child gets older.

If you know the baby’s name, you could buy a personalized wall plaque. If the baby has already been born, you could get a birth announcement plaque. An alternative would be wooden, fabric or ceramic letters to spell out the name or initials. A train made of wooden letters to spell out the baby’s name makes a cute nursery decoration that the child can play with when he gets older.

Parents and children alike enjoy charting the child’s change in height. A personalized growth chart makes an adorable nursery decoration that will “grow” with the child.

Storage is often an issue in baby’s and children’s rooms. A decorative wall shelf or peg rack provides visual interest and much needed storage. Storage baskets made out wicker or fabric can be used in a nursery to hold diapers and other baby items. As the child gets older, he or she can use the baskets to store books or toys.

It is entirely appropriate to get a baby gift that is meant for when the child gets older. The parents will appreciate a personalized toy chest or children’s rocker or stool, and the child will get a lot of use out of it when he or she grows.

All of these items come in a variety of colors and styles. They would be appropriate for a boy’s or girl’s room, no matter what the theme.

When it comes to choosing a baby gift, think beyond the traditional baby clothes and toys. A gift to enhance the baby’s nursery décor can be appreciated everyday for many years to come.
